New Year greetings to all our members and guests

Aims of the association:
The main aim of the Sligo and Leitrim beekeeping association is in the promotion of the ancient craft of beekeeping in the region. The association aims that it will be used as an outlet for providing training and technical advice on beekeeping.

History of the association:
The Sligo, Leitrim Beekeeping Association was formed when a group of like minded people attended a meeting at a local beekeeper’s house and agreed to form an association for the counties of Sligo and Leitrim (the only two counties in Ireland at the time that did not have a beekeeping association or club). In July 07, officers were elected and an affiliation application was made to FIBKA. A Constitution, Aims and Objectives of the Association were developed and FIBKA voted to accept our application at their Annual meeting in late July.
